Are you a melancholic online business owner by nature? I have something to tell you.

In case you do not know what melancholy is, a melancholic person is someone who has a very detailed attitude. He or she is very aware of his or her surroundings, usually is good with words, and often good planners and strategists. Seeking details is probably their second nature.

I like everything about melancholic people except for one thing – they usually lack the initiative to take action. Very often, they are phlegmatic by nature and this, my friend, can be their greatest weakness.

How often have you met people who have told you a lot of their plans – about what they wanted to do in life and in the near future – but never happened? Are you one of them?

You probably had friends who told you about their great plans and being a great melancholy, their plans are usually very detailed. Ironically, when time passes, their plan never materialized. More often that not, the excuse lies behind their lack of will to take action.

This happens almost everyday. You will also find that this is a very great challenge to all who are looking to start their own Online Business where putting in sweat equity is concerned.

So, plan a little. We all still need to plan to succeed. You do not have to be very detailed, though. You might cringe at this fact but the logic is, very detailed plans make it sound as if it is “too much work”. Now, are you no longer surprise why most people lack the will to take action?

If you do not believe me, here is an analogy I would like you to compare.

[1] I plan to go to town. I will take buses No. 6 and 24 to reach there. I will probably reach town in an hour.

[2] I plan to go to town. I will walk out of the house, turn left, turn right, go straight, wait at the bus stop, climb up Bus No. 6, pay the fare, take a seat, stop at the bus terminal, walk down the platform, climb up Bus No. 24, pay the fare, take a seat, wait, and stop at the City Square.

Of the two plans, which one sounds like “too much work”? The two plans still lead to the same destination. If a friend in your neighborhood asks you for direction to town, which of the above two plans will you tell him?

I believe you get my point by now. On the same token, plan on what you need to do. Be precise and concise. Some extra details in your plan can be included but make sure they are useful. Your plans do not need spare parts just as your DIY tools do not need any. More “spare parts” in your plan is going to weigh a lot on your desire to take action.

Sometimes to succeed in Online Business, you have to be a little bit choleric. You have to take control of your Online Business especially during its infancy stages. Your lack of control is a very good weapon to kill it so beware. Take control.

I know that there are people who are afraid of making mistakes but let us be realistic – we are all human. We make mistakes – whether we like it or not.

The best thing we can do is learn from our mistakes as much as possible and avoid making major mistakes. If you take control and make mistakes, at least you are in control and you can change it, not something or somebody else.

I also believe that we are all smart people in one way or another. Most of us just lack the will to take action. This simple formula summarizes it all:

[Intelligence / Work = Results]

Most of us are very intelligent people but without work, there will be no results. Now it is a small wonder why the people whom we call half-wits still get ahead of us.

Be action-oriented. Produce results!

Please inspect this one of a kind web site for a scholarship for pharmacy students is the remedy ideas.

Searching for help to finance university degree courses may be difficult and may need time. These scholarships differ from the regular student loan because they are a grant for a college education, and, don’t have to be paid back. While exploring means of funding your university education, check into the unusual options, for example lefty grants. Left-Handed Scholarships: — A left-handed bursary may at first appear out of the ordinary, however look at these facts: Bill Gates is a left hander, as is Barack Obama. Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Jimi Hendrix not to mention Charlie Chaplin were left-handed as well. An estimated eleven percent of the population are southpaws. Often considered more talented in the arts and more intelligent, southpaws have often been the victims of discrimination. Today, lefties are no longer stigmatised or thought of as odd, in fact they may even be associated with the many great individuals referred to previously.

There are numerous scholarships accessible for left-handed scholars when you look carefully. A Beckley Scholarship for up to $1,000 is available at Juniata College in Huntington, PA. For students of Juniata College and set up in 1979, this grant has aided forty plus southpaws in their pursuit for a college degree. Numerous bursaries do have requirements or limitations. This can be minimum grades and financial needs, but not always. Multiple applications may give you a better chance at finishing with a minimum amount of debt. Clubs, groups related to your hobbies and local organisations can be a source of college scholarships. Grants for left-handed scholars are not the only case; financial help is available in other instances for instance to the children of veterans or if you are disabled.

Some individuals need to spend a little your time looking for university funding, nevertheless the payoffs will be valuable. Utilized in conjunction with standard lending, they can certainly cut back the student debt established by a university education. Leave no stone unturned in searching all suitable funding. Do remember the different options in addition to left handed grants – be inventive! Apply for everything you think you are qualified for, you may keep your academic debt minimal, and you will look forward to a better financial future when you eventually leave school.

In my mind, small talk basically consists of 3 phases:

  1. The ice breaker
  2. Get to know you better
  3. Graceful exit

So let’s go ahead and briefly touch on each phase and in turn give you some concrete takeaway strategies that you can apply immediately for each.

Phase 1: The Ice Breaker
So you attend a networking event… you make eye contact with someone you want to meet, you approach them and introduce yourself… now what?

Well having a few powerful, open-ended ice breaker questions should certainly do the trick. For example:

  • A tried and true ice breaker is the proverbial, “So Jeff, what do you do?” In other words “Jeff, what business are you in? Now people love talking about themselves and their business so the idea here is to get them started talking. Most people also love to hear the sound of their own voice so the ice breaker question is critical and essentially sets the tone and potential for the conversation.
  • Another good ice breaker could be, “So Jeff, what brings you here today?”

Now notice on these sample ice breaker questions I’ve repeated the person’s name. First off by doing this it will help burn that person’s name into my head so I don’t forget it. Secondly, people love the sound of their own name – so don’t be afraid to use it throughout your conversation.

Phase 2: Get To Know You Better
Depending on the results of the ice breaker questions you should by now be able to determine whether or not it makes sense to get to know this person better. If not, simply skip this phase and go into your graceful exit. But if you do see a synergy here, by all means try some of these again open-ended, getting to know you better questions:

  • So Jeff, how did you get into that business?
  • What types of challenges keep you up at night?
  • Jeff, help me out here, draw me a mental picture, what does success look like for you and your business?
  • What’s new in your industry these days? Any events or trends that are shaping it?

Now you can use one, two, all of these questions, or more if the situation permits. However, be careful here not to dominate and monopolize someone’s time. If you’re at a networking event, there’s a good chance that they’re there to network and meet other people as well, so it may make sense to go to the graceful exit phase and encourage that you two get together in the near future.

Phase 3: Graceful Exit
It’s vastly important how you leave a conversation – as this is the last impression you make on that person. We’re not looking to create any animosity here by rudely blowing someone off. The key here is as this phase’s title states, is to exit gracefully.

A key difference between the types of questions or statements you make in this phase as opposed to the previous two phases is that now you shift to using close-ended ones. For example:

  • Introduce the person to someone else that may be of interest to them and then politely excuse yourself. The dialogue can go something like this: “Hey Cindy I’d like you to meet Jeff. Jeff’s in the xyz industry as well and I just felt that you two should meet.” Now they exchange pleasantries and you immediately exit the conversation by saying something like, “Well you two probably have a bunch to talk about. Cindy I’ll catch up with you later and Jeff, it was great meeting you.”
  • Another example of a graceful exit may be: I can certainly see some synergy between what you and I do. Can I give you a call next week to set up some time to talk further?
  • Or, it’s been great meeting you, will I see you at future meetings?
  • And lastly, wow, this is quite an event don’t you think? Well we should probably keep moving… it was great meeting you Jeff!

So now you’re aware of and armed with some actual strategies for the 3 phases of small talk. The key now is to get in the game and practice, practice, practice and you too can see the results you would like for your business.

There’s no denying what kind of player you are. Some people tend to play loose poker, some play tight, and while good players tend to vary their play, most lean in one direction or another. There are positives and negatives to both styles of play, but it helps to be able to use both play styles to your advantage at the casino.

When you play passive opponents, it’s advantageous to adopt a more loose style of play. If you are at an online poker table of players who are hesitant to raise, then it can definitely pay off to take some bigger risks on hands that you would normally fold.

For instance, if you are in a middle position and are dealt a pocket pair of 5’s, in most cases you’d want to fold those because you may get raised by someone who acts after you. Pocket fives are very dependent on the flop-they aren’t any good unless you can pick up a set. It may be worth the blind to see the flop, but it’s not worth much more than that.

If you know that you’re at a passive table, it’s much more worth it to pay and see the flop, because you can bet with some certainty that no one will want to raise behind you.

Preparing well is the key step in interview success. Almost without exclusion, the interview candidate who has finished the most preparation will be the person who takes the post.

Prepare your responses:

You could never know exactly what you will be asked, but there are loads of questions which generally come up at interviews and through some basic googling and completing your research you could have a bank of answers ready for the common questions questions. There will always be questions that surprise you, but if you’ve thought through your work history, prepared examples and know your CV inside out, then you should be able to answer everything competently.

Do your reseach:

In almost every interview situation, you will be required, at some point, to confirm what you know about the post to which you’re applying. The detail and complexity of your reply depends on the position you are going for and the level of seniority, but it is crucial that you show that you have completed your homework and understand the company, the market and the competitor landscape. Their web site is always a sensible research tool and if you have time, call up the organisation and ask them to mail you any germane corporate communications.

Plan your trip:

It is incredible how many individuals turn up late for an interview, because they got lost. Know the address, print out a map and if possible do a trial run so you know exactly how long it will take to get there. Always take the main reception telephone number with you, in case of an emergency, and give yourself plenty of time.

Once the interview itself arrives, make sure that you follow the lead of the interviewer. Don’t try to use all the examples you’ve developed, just keep to the point and make sure your responses are applicable.

Don’t think that an interview has to be a one way communication flow. Try to get the interviewer to tell you what attributes they are looking for early on and make a mental note of any info that they give you. This way you can tailor your replies accordingly and ensure you say what they want to hear.

Finally, an interview is as much about first impressions as it is about your skills and experiences. Demonstrate your enthusiasm by exhibiting a positive and professional demeanor. Use a firm handshake, maintain eye contact and smile!

Freelance writing is as much about selling yourself as it is about writing. With this in mind, we asked some of the employers who use our site, and others like it, just what it is that they look for in a freelance writer. Here’s what they told us:

1. Employers won’t go looking for the information they need

“A lot of the freelancers who replied to my advert just sent me their quote and nothing else,” says Angel, who advertised for a freelancer in July. “There was absolutely nothing to set them apart from all of the other writers who responded, and I’d have had to contact them with questions to try and get the information I needed out of them. Needless to say, I didn’t bother. I employed one of the writers who took the time to tell me a bit about herself, and why she was right for the job.”

2. Employers won’t ask the same question twice

If an employer asks a specific question: “what’s your writing experience?” say, or “who have you worked for before?” they expect an answer. Strangely, not all freelancers give them that answer.

“I advertised for a proofreader,” says Jason. “One freelancer responded with a huge spiel telling me what a wonderful writer he was. That’s great, but I wanted a proofreader. Rather than emailing him back and asking about his proofreading qualifications, I chose one of the people who’d answered my question the first time.”

3. Employers appreciate courtesy

“A few weeks ago I was looking for a freelance writer,” says Samantha. “I posted an advert on a number of different writing sites, and said that I would send a written brief to anyone interested in the project, to allow them to give me a quote. I was shocked by the responses I got, particularly the number of people who just emailed one line saying ’send me the brief’. I mean, is it really so much effort to write a proper email, giving your name and addressing me with mine? Does ‘please’ take too long to type? Apparently so. Needless to say, those kind of emails didn’t get a response. I wasn’t just looking for someone who could write well: I wanted to hire someone who’d be easy to work with. I don’t want to work with someone with no manners.”

4. Your writing matters – even in a query letter

“One freelancer proofreader asked me a question via email,” says Jason. “She ended the question with four question marks. She didn’t get the job.”

5. Employers aren’t always looking for the cheapest possible quote

“Some of the quotes I received were really shockingly low,” admits Angel. “I just thought that if someone is willing to write an article for $10, they must really be struggling for work. And if they’re really struggling for work, they must not be very good. I went with someone who charged what seemed to be a reasonable rate: she wasn’t the cheapest I found, but quality was important to me.”
